The Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Sport Association is pleased to announce the Commonwealth Youth Recycled Art Competition 2026 – National Leg. This exciting initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, creativity, and the values of unity, sustainability, and cultural expression among youth.
Competition Overview
Participants will be required to conceptualize and create costume or fashion pieces using primarily recycled materials (minimum 75% recycled plastic). Each submission should reflect one or more Commonwealth values, including:
Equality
Humanity
Destiny
Inclusivity
Peace
Sustainability
Eligibility & Submission Requirements
Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 21 years. All submissions must be made via our website at www.teamtto.org and include the following:
- 2–3 photos and/or videos of the completed piece
- A 300–500-word description outlining the concept and inspiration behind the work
Note: Submission portal will remain open post the registration deadline ONLY for submitting the required artwork.
Parents or guardians of participants under the age of 18 are required to sign the consent waiver and return it to marketing@ttoc.org, along with a copy of their ID (Identification Card, Driver’s Permit, Passport).
Please Note: Previous winners from last year's competition will not be eligible to enter.
National Competition Timeline
Registration Period: 8th – 27th April 2026
Deadline for Submission of Artwork: 20th May 2026
Prizes & Recognition
National Level Prizes:
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will progress onto the Regional Level
- All participants will receive a certificate of participation
Regional Competition Prizes:
- 1st Place – 500 GBP
- 2nd Place – 300 GBP
- 3rd Place – 200 GBP
Please note: Prizes will be split equally among all members in the case of pair or group entries.
